Gema Ramírez Guerrero

 

Professor at the University of Cadiz and holder of a PhD in Marine Management and Conservation from the University of Cadiz. She has published several articles in indexed scientific journals and book chapters, and has presented numerous papers and lectures at national and international academic conferences. Her research focuses on the sustainable planning and management of coastal zones from a tourism marketing perspective. She is a member of the "Integrated Coastal Zone Management" research group at the University of Cadiz and coordinator of two projects: (TURNO) Blue tourism and dark nights: Towards a proposal for assessing and raising awareness of the impact of coastal tourism on light pollution; and (GEOPAT) Heritage, tourism and climate change: proposing a common strategic framework for action on both sides of the Strait of Gibraltar based on the geomarketing approach.

 

Will Straw

Professor of Urban Media Studies in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University. He is the author of Cyanide and Sin: Visualizing Crime in 50s America (Andrew Roth Gallery, 2006) and co-editor of some twenty books, including Circulation and the City: Essays on Urban Culture (with Alexandra Boutros, 2010), Formes Urbaines (with Anouk Bélanger and Annie Gérin, 2014), and Night Studies: Regards croisés sur les nouveaux visages de la nuit (Grenoble: Editions Elya, 2020.). ) He has published over 200 articles on music, cinema, popular culture and the urban night. . Mr. Straw received the David Thomson Award for Graduate Supervision and Teaching from McGill University in 2006. He has been music correspondent for Prime Time (CBC Radio), pop culture correspondent for the Women's Television Network and cultural commentator for Newswatch (CBC Television, Montreal).  Mr. Straw has been a visiting professor at the University of the Arts (Belgrade), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Mexico City), the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil) and the Central European University (Budapest).

 

Luc Gwiazdzinski

 

Luc Gwiazdzinski holds a PhD and HDR in geography. He is a professor at the Ecole nationale supérieure d'architecture de Toulouse (ENSAT) and a member of the LRA Laboratory. His work focuses on the city, metropolization, time, rhythms, the night, mobility and situational geography. He has directed numerous colloquia, international research programs, theses and books on these issues, including: La ville 24h/24, L'Aube; La nuit dernière frontière de la ville, L'Aube; La nuit en questions, L'Aube; Chronotopies, Elya; Night studies, Elya; Territoires apprenants, Elya; Les ateliers de l'imaginaire, Elya; Manifeste pour une politique des rythmes, EPFL (...).
